This complete 800W Garden Solar System combines two JA Solar 465W N-Type bifacial double-glass solar panels, a Hoymiles HMS-800-2WB HiFlow Pro microinverter, a 5m Type-G UK Plug & Play AC cable and two robust Worldwide Solar Model 2 – 20° ZAM steel ballast mounting systems.

With a combined rated solar-panel capacity of 930Wp, the system provides additional DC capacity to support useful generation during variable UK weather conditions. The Hoymiles microinverter converts the DC electricity produced by the panels into usable AC electricity, with a maximum rated AC output of 800VA.

The two JA Solar panels use modern N-Type bifacial double-glass technology. In addition to collecting sunlight through the front surface, bifacial panels can potentially use reflected light reaching the rear of the modules. The amount of additional rear-side generation depends on the installation surface, panel position, spacing and surrounding conditions.

Each panel measures 1762 × 1134 × 30mm and is supported by its own Model 2 ballast mounting system. The mounts hold the panels at a fixed 20° angle, making the package particularly suitable for accessible gardens, patios and suitable flat-roof locations where a secure ballasted installation is appropriate.

The Hoymiles HMS-800-2WB has two independent MPPT channels, allowing each solar panel to be managed individually. This helps optimise generation when the panels experience slightly different sunlight levels, temperatures or operating conditions.

Built-in 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth make commissioning and monitoring straightforward. The system works with the S-Miles Home App, allowing you to view solar generation without purchasing an additional DTU.

The fixed-angle mounts allow the panels to be positioned without installing them on the main house roof. This makes the system suitable for locations such as gardens, patios and suitable flat roofs, subject to an appropriate site assessment, secure positioning and sufficient ballast.

The panels should be placed in a location receiving good sunlight and minimal shade. A generally south-facing position can provide strong overall generation, although southeast- and southwest-facing arrangements may also work effectively depending on the property and the household’s electricity-consumption pattern.

Important Installation Information

The mounting systems must be installed on a suitable, stable and level surface and secured with sufficient ballast for the installation location. Ballast blocks or weights are not included unless expressly stated in the package contents. The amount of ballast required depends on factors including local wind conditions, exposure, installation height and site layout.

Before ordering, measure the intended cable route between the microinverter and the connection point. The package includes a 5m UK AC cable; alternative cable lengths may be available separately where a longer route is required.

The combined solar-panel rating of 930Wp is higher than the microinverter’s maximum 800VA AC output. This intentional DC-to-AC sizing can support improved generation during lower-light conditions. When available panel power exceeds the inverter’s maximum output, the microinverter will limit its AC output to its permitted maximum.

Please note: Actual solar generation depends on location, orientation, shading, season, weather, panel temperature and installation conditions. Additional bifacial rear-side generation is not guaranteed and varies according to the amount of reflected light reaching the rear of each panel.
